  6. This mode is similar to the Smear mode but uses the current brush's shape
  7. instead of its color.  Only those colors which are within the currently
  8. active color range are affected.  In this mode, the left mouse button
  9. paints with the next higher color in the range while the right button
  10. paints with the next lower color. Shade mode is very useful for creating
  11. realistic shadows, since Shade can be made to darken areas and still allow
  12. details to be visible.
